Established in 1999, Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to preserve, protect and promote in perpetuity the art, culture, history and natural beauty of Hartford's nationally-recognized Cedar Hill Cemetery. Cedar Hill Cemetery was established in 1864 and is a non-sectarian, privately-managed, nonprofit organization. Cedar Hill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and encompasses 270 acres of waterways, woodlands and memorial grounds on the South side of Hartford. To date, more than 30,000 people have chosen Cedar Hill Cemetery as their final resting place, including notables Samuel and Elizabeth Colt, J.P.
